The Prosecutor General of Armenia and the Prosecutor General of Georgia discussed several matters of mutual interest

Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia visited Georgia by the invitation of Irakli Shotadze, Prosecutor General of Georgia to participate in the event dedicated to 105th anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.

 

In the scope of the visit Anna Vardapetyan had a private conversation with the Georgian partner on May 30 and discussed several issues directed at the development of the cooperation.

 

Irakli Shotadze, the Prosecutor General of Georgia, welcomed the visit of the RA Prosecutor General in Georgia and highlighted that there is a huge potential of development of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Offices of brother countries.

 

Anna Vardapetyan congratulated her Georgian colleagues on the occasion of professional holiday and thanked for the invitation.

 

During the meeting of the Prosecutor General of Armenia and Prosecutor General of Georgia, a reference was made to the international-legal cooperation in criminal cases and it was highlighted that high level relations between the two Prosecutor’s offices permit the discussion of issues in working order and finding mutually acceptable solutions to existing challenges.

 

During the meeting a reference was made to the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Prosecutor’s Offices of 2 countries in 2022 as well as the possibility of developing and signing working program in the scope of the Memorandum was discussed.  The abovementioned program shall include the following directions— cyber and corruption crimes, fight against the money laundering and drug circulation.

 

Anna Vardapetyan, RA Prosecutor General highlighted the necessity of collaborative work in fight against the common “enemy”—crime and consolidation of forces.
