Yeghegnadzor Department of the RA Police received operational information on June 26, 2021 the a resident from Vernashen settlement of Gladzor community of Vayots Dzor Region gave an election bribe to a resident of Gladzor settlement of the same community, in order the latter's family members were to vote during the extraordinary elections of the National Assembly held on June 20, 2021 vote for the Alliance "I have honor".

 

A criminal case was initiated under the features of Article 154.2, Part 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code on 26 June, 2021 in Yeghegnadzor Department of the RA Police.

 

The criminal case was sent to the Special Investigation Service of RA for preliminary investigation.

 

During the preliminary investigation, it was found out that G. A., who is included in the list of candidates of the Alliance of "I have honor", visited A., who is in close relations with his family, is registered, lives and has the right to vote in Gladzor community of Vayots Dzor, informed the latter and his family members about his candidacy as a deputy candidate in the Alliance "I have honor" and asked them in the upcoming elections to vote in favor of the alliance mentioned in ballot number 6. At the same time, with the aim of summarizing the results of the election, that is, in the process of counting the ballots, to verify the fact that the mentioned persons voted for the Alliance "I have honor", he proposed to fold the upper right-hand corner of the selected ballot, and then straighten it, to leave a special sign confirming this fact, which later informed again during the telephone conversation.

 

Then during the period between June 17-18, 2021, at around 18-19 o'clock, G. A. visited A. V. and gave 20.000 AMD bribe in order to vote in favor of the Alliance "I have honor".

 

Based on sufficient evidence obtained, a decision was made to involve G. A., the resident of the Vernashen settlement of Vayots Dzor Region, deputy candidate of the Alliance "I have honor" as an accused under Article 154.2, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

 

Undertaking not to leave the place of residence was chosen as a preventive measure.

 

Measures are undertaken to ensure a comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case, to provide a legal assessment of the actions of other persons related to the case.

 

Notice: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
